Terms of Service
BudgetOnGrid - Effective Date: May 5, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using BudgetOnGrid, accessible at https://budgetongrid.com (the "Service"), operated by BudgetOnGrid ("we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use BudgetOnGrid. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account Registration
BudgetOnGrid uses Google Sign-In exclusively for account creation and authentication. By signing in, you authorize us to access your basic Google profile information (name, email address, and profile picture) as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your Google account
- All activity that occurs under your BudgetOnGrid account
- Notifying us immediately at budgetongrid@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.
3. Description of the Service
BudgetOnGrid is a web-based budgeting tool that provides:
- Structured budget management with categories and subcategories
- Automated transaction parsing via document upload (bank statements, receipts, screenshots)
- Budget notifications and spending alerts via email and in-app indicators
- Data export in Excel and CSV formats
- Annual planning and budgeting templates
The Service is designed as a local-first application. Your financial data and budget records are stored on your device. We do not store your personal financial records on our servers.
4. Payments and Subscriptions
4.1 One-Time Payment
Access to the full BudgetOnGrid product requires a one-time payment of $7 USD. This payment grants you lifetime access to the core product features as they exist at the time of purchase and future updates to those core features.
4.2 Optional Add-On Subscriptions
Certain premium features (including additional AI document import credits) are available as optional recurring add-ons at $5 USD per month. Add-on subscriptions:
- Are billed monthly on a recurring basis
- Can be managed, paused, or cancelled at any time through the Dodo Payments customer portal, accessible from within the Service
- Will continue until cancelled — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
4.3 Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely by Dodo Payments. By making a purchase, you agree to Dodo Payments' terms and conditions. BudgetOnGrid does not store your payment card information.
4.4 Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to modify pricing for add-on subscriptions with at least 14 days notice communicated via email or in-app notice. Pricing changes will not apply to your current billing period.
5. Refund Policy
5.1 One-Time Payment
The $7 one-time payment is non-refundable. By completing the purchase, you acknowledge and agree that no refunds will be issued for the one-time access fee under any circumstances.
5.2 Add-On Subscription Refunds
Refunds for the $5/month add-on subscription are subject to the following conditions:
- If you have used any AI-powered feature (including document parsing, bank statement import, or receipt processing) during the current billing period, that billing period is non-refundable.
- If you have not used any AI-powered feature during the current billing period, you may request a refund for that period by contacting us at budgetongrid@gmail.com before the period ends.
Approved refunds will be processed through Dodo Payments and may take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement.
6. AI-Powered Document Import
6.1 How It Works
Uploaded documents are transmitted securely to a third-party AI parsing service. The parsed output (categorized transactions) is returned to your device. Uploaded files and raw financial data are not stored on BudgetOnGrid servers after processing.
6.2 Accuracy Disclaimer
The AI parsing feature is provided as a convenience tool and may not always produce accurate results. Parsed transactions may contain errors, miscategorizations, or omissions. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and correcting all parsed data before relying on it for financial decisions.
BudgetOnGrid makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-parsed output and shall not be liable for any financial decisions made based on such output.
6.3 Credit Usage
AI import features consume credits included with your add-on subscription. Credit balances and usage are tracked by BudgetOnGrid. Credits are non-transferable and expire at the end of each billing period unless otherwise stated.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Upload documents you do not have the right to share or process
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its infrastructure
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
- Use the Service to process data on behalf of third parties without their consent
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms.
8. Your Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at https://budgetongrid.com/privacy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8.1 Local Data Storage
Your budget data is stored locally on your device. BudgetOnGrid does not back up, sync, or store your financial records on our servers. You are solely responsible for backing up your data. We are not liable for any loss of locally stored data.
8.2 Data Export
You may export your data at any time in Excel or CSV format using the built-in export feature. We encourage you to export your data regularly as a backup measure.
8.3 Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your BudgetOnGrid account and associated personal data by contacting budgetongrid@gmail.com. Account deletion will remove your profile information and usage data from our systems within 30 days. Locally stored budget data must be deleted manually from your device.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, branding, code, and content, is owned by BudgetOnGrid and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.
You retain full ownership of all budget data, financial records, and content you create using the Service. By uploading documents to the AI import feature, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process those documents solely for the purpose of providing the parsing service.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
- Any errors or bugs in the Service will be corrected
- The Service will meet your specific financial management requirements
- AI-parsed transaction data will be accurate or complete
BudgetOnGrid is a budgeting tool and is not a financial advisor, bank, or regulated financial institution. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BUDGETONGRID AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR FINANCIAL LOSSES ARISING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any errors in AI-parsed transaction data
- Loss of locally stored budget data
- Unauthorized access to your account
- Any third-party services integrated with the Service
IN NO EVENT SHALL BUDGETONGRID'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO BUDGETONGRID IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
12. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own terms and privacy policies:
- Google (Sign-In and AI parsing infrastructure) — policies.google.com
- Dodo Payments (payment processing and subscription management)
We are not responsible for the practices, availability, or content of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.
13. Service Availability and Changes
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notice.
In the event that BudgetOnGrid discontinues the Service entirely:
- Users will be given at least 30 days notice via email
- All recurring add-on subscriptions will be cancelled and prorated refunds issued for unused periods
- You will retain access to any locally stored data and exported files
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and notify you via email or a prominent notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
For material changes (such as changes to payment terms or refund policy), we will provide at least 14 days notice before the changes take effect.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting budgetongrid@gmail.com.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination:
- Your right to access the Service will immediately cease
- Any outstanding add-on subscription will be cancelled
- Your locally stored data will remain on your device until you delete it
Sections 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), and any other provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
